Definitely! Yay, I'm so excited you’re here..
It's always helpful if you have completed a few sewing projects before learning pattern making, as this will give you a head start and a better understanding of the general constructing of clothes.
But the course is designed for complete beginners through to intermediate pattern makers who want to refresh or understand the fundamentals better.

All the content is pre-recorded so you can work at a time that suits you.
However, in November there will be a live community group alongside the course content, so you connect with other makers and ask questions along the way. I hope this feels like the best of both worlds!
At this stage, I don’t plan on running the course live again (or at least not for a while!) so if you’re interested in joining with a community group, you can join now and still get access to the content forever.

I know everyone learns differently and it’s important to me to cater to different minds. I’ve always had great feedback about the different learning styles so I hope you love it too!
Each lesson has video and step-by-step written instructions so you can learn in the best way for you.
There is also plenty of design inspiration to see the techniques in action in the ‘real-world’ and try-it-yourself exercises throughout so you can put your new skills into practice.

I get it! I aim to teach pattern making in the easiest way possible and to include as little math as possible.
Where I can, I teach by cutting into the paper and twisting it so you can easily see the results instead of doing calculations. I believe these methods make it easier to see how the pattern is changing, which will give you a better understanding overall!

In the course we'll be using 1/2 scale blocks so it's quick and easy to try out ideas, you'll be sent a copy in your sign up email!
This is the best way to learn and takes away the pressure when trying something new.
I usually recommend that you use these skills to pattern hack your sewing patterns to start with. But you can also use your own block to draft patterns from scratch.
You can add on the Unpicked dress block (full-scale) when you get to the checkout or purchase it once you’ve started the course.

It’s my mission to demystify pattern making - I love to help unpick overwhelming subjects and make them easy for you to understand through bite-sized techniques and plenty of try-it-yourself exercises.
I’m all about playing with ideas, experimenting and having fun getting creative.. Because I want to help you enjoy the beauty of the process as much as the end result.
